I am completely trustworthy… except when not telling the truthReally. That easy? No your messing with me.
@Tesla Offer 0% loan if balance owed is guaranteed in TSLA stock.
Nothing self serving about the request
I wouldn't say split changes everything. Splits have a purpose, but profits change everything.initially i was going to sell my tsla stock to pay for the truck but i think it would be wiser to just leave the money in the stock as it has so much potential to grow. i got in on 39 shares at a price point of 770 a couple months back. if it has another 5-1 split ill hold until it reaches 1k again in the future and just put a decent down payment on the truck. im in the same scenario as one of the previous comments. i hate having money in the bank so any chance i get i invest it all so it works for me. but what are the chances theres a 10-1 or 20-1 split like other companies are doing? that would change everything

This is a good idea. Impressed and may consider the same.My portfolio is 90% TSLA, and I keep adding to it, even if in small amounts. I hardly care what the price is. Just a few days go, I bought 3 shares.
When the time comes to buy the CT, I intend to deposit the least possible amount, and take the loan over the longest term possible.
Sell the shares monthly to make the repayments.
I bought my Tesla Model 3 LR RWD in March 2018. It cost about $51,000 and I paid it in full. I should have done a $5000 down payment (plus my $1000 early reservation payment) and financed the remaining $45,000. If I had bought $45,000 worth of Tesla stock in March 2018 it would now be worth $630,000.I definitely won't be selling shares for a CT. My modest TSLA holding is aimed long term. I will sell after Tesla has reached market saturation in their key sectors.
Imagine how dumb you'd feel (and resentful toward that CT in your driveway) if you sold early to pay for it and TSLA did another 10x! That $70k CT cost you $700k.
Personally, I fully expect TSLA to increase 10x by 2030. But definitely don't take investing advice from some random idiot (me) on the internet!
BTW, I bought in 2018...pre-split at $300. Kathy Wood predicted it would go to $4000 by 2025.(pre-split)... And people said she was crazy. It got there in 2021.

i'm outperforming Cathie Wood. And although investment and finance is my skills set and you (as some friends do) ask me whether to buy a stock, I'll just say, just toss that damn coin.
fingers crossed the outcome turns out just like that. getting my hand on the CT one way or another. i have been dying for it to come out. lets see where the stock is at when deliveries beginI wouldn't say split changes everything. Splits have a purpose, but profits change everything.
Share price is a reflection of profits, split or no split.
PE value is the mass forecasting potential.
Basically I think profits will continuously improve over the next 10 years, blowing previous benchmarks out of the water, and I think PE will remain between 50 and 100.
I reckon you are on the right track. Here is what I think your 39 shares will do, if left untouched. I think sometimes we need to wait.
Crazy, I know

Ouch, that has to hurt. I sold 10 shares of Amazon at what I paid for them. $232 because they sat stagnant for 6 months. Ops.I bought my Tesla Model 3 LR RWD in March 2018. Tesla shares in March 2018 ranged from about $50-69 (adjusted for the 5x stock split that happened in 2020). I used the larger number, $69. The past month shares have been around $1000. That's an increase of 14.49 times (used 14x though).
I actually did buy some Tesla shares later, but at different price peaks in 2020 and 2021 . They still almost doubled, but I'm not selling them to buy Cybertruck. I'm holding on to those.
I wish I could go back in time, but I don't dwell on it or have strong feelings of regret. And I know that Tesla's stock performance isn't likely to repeat. But already (for me) it has outperformed other investments with just the doubling of price on my shares.Ouch, that has to hurt. I sold 10 shares of Amazon at what I paid for them. $232 because they sat stagnant for 6 months. Ops.
This all said I hate to be a Debby downer, but I don't expect Tesla to maintain their current growth curve or margins. I am sure they will double by 2028 which is awesome by all measures, but I am still going to trade some future growth for some immediate fun (spending money) when the time comes. You are only XX once and mobility won't improve for us over 50 in the next 10 years.
