Quick google search says 830 cells per model Y. So this equates to about 12,000 model Y's, or half as many CT's. Doesn't this seem kind of low? Or are more 4680's coming from somewhere else?

Edit: I see Crissa added a second post with more info. Seems like a reasonable ramp rate. Hopefully accelerating!

Well, they're currently making 0 Cybertrucks per week, so...

Remember, overall (not just Austin) they were at three-quarters of a million cells per week back in December...

...and were only at a million ever last 16 months ago.

I wish there was more transparency on the 4680 ramp. At this point I'm not convinced the CT will only be 4680 cells. 15 months to only produce ~12,000 MY of cells? And with no apparent advantage to 2170 cells after Munroe teardown?

I really hope I'm wrong, but 4680 has been a disappointment so far.

If they are building another 4680 facility near Freemont, to me it indicates they have settled on one of the two options they were testing.

Could also mean they are satisfied with the current capacity to scale it out.

I don't think they would move on out of desperation.

Maybe? Wildly behind expectations. And still not at a rate to CT. What do you think their cells/week are now?
Do you think the current battery cathode factories come online and these numbers remain similar? What is the current state of progress on the cathode factory? Nearly done? Your comments will be outdated in a few months when everything comes online right at the same time CTs start rolling off the line.

I'm not above admitting I lack knowledge in this space. Is this something you know a lot about? Would love to learn more.

Very true, but it's progress. It took Austin a year to do 10x what Fremont did in twice the time. Things are moving forward, speeding up.
