I have not laughed this hard since I last watched Rat Race. Loved the Afghanistan reference.
This was like Gold. I am tired of people with fake smiles and politically correct pretenses. I am not saying I am on board with all the content but I just LOVE the delivery. My favorites:

I am old and allowed to be grouchy

I-ran, I-rack and all the other ”I”s

This man has a good understanding of how the world is operating!

There are technologies that exist beyond our comprehension RIGHT NOW and they are kept secret because of actions like this by “government officials.”

burn me, prove me wrong, don’t believe me, I don’t care anymore, I know what I know. And that being said there’s a lot I don’t know as well!

I love Sandy but he's completely wrong on this.

Tesla is not being "investigated by Congress". A pair of US Senators formally asked the Federal Trade Commission to determine if Tesla has been marketing FSD deceptively. This is reasonable, given how Elon has been significantly over-optimistic about FSD's capabilities and timeline of delivery. This has nothing to do with the technology, only in how it is being presented to the public.

Also, NHTSA is not investigating Tesla for fires. It's investigating 11 crashes since 2018 into emergency vehicles while on Autopilot. It's a serious issue, but it seems to me that any L2 autonomous vehicle would have similar results.

I freaking loved it. Go Tesla, boo ICE OEM. Boo the government for trying to level the playing field. Tesla took huge risk, they think big, they deserve to dominate.

Last time I looked Ford/GMC struggle to get over 50% American content in their vehicles. Telsa must me 85% or more.

Exactly. No L2 system is required to defeat drunk drivers, which about four of the eleven seem clear cut cases of. A couple of the cases the car was moving at a speed or pattern that indicates Autopilot could not be active. And that's just a cursory reading of the eleven events in the billions of miles Teslas have driven in the time period.

Sandy needs to put a six pack in a cooler take it out beneath a nice shade tree with a copy of Atlas Shrugged and relax while he reads the book and drinks the beer. Plus ca change and all that.

PS: No, he doesn't have to read the whole speech.

Eh, I wish he's have a little more self-awareness that the same regulations that make sure GM recalls the Bolts are what get us these fruitless Tesla investigations.

You can't have good regulations without constant vigilance for bad ones. Having no regulations altogether would mean no recall of the Bolt and that would be terrible.

Autopilot has a weird mode where you can override the speed control but leave autosteer on. When it’s in this mode, Autopilot will not brake, it pops up and tells you as much.

Yep.

And it'll disable completely past a certain speed. But it slowly backs off the abilities until it's just a dumb cruise control, first.

"Hey man, this is outside my ability!"

I got a kick out of his rant........and he is right about the government.......they have a "fix it until it is broken" mentality.
Having been in the military I can relate to Sandy's frustrations with idiotic rules and regulations and agencies full of career bunglers.
I also loved his ride along with the Ford guy in the Estang where they tried out Fords pathetic attempt at a FSD system.
I'll give Sandy credit for being diplomatic.
