Unless a camera has water, snow, or dirt on it.

You are telling a story, it may not be the story.
Robotaxi will be so different from your vehicle.

Automated systems like robotaxis have built-in backup protocols and monitoring mechanisms to detect and respond to issues. Robotaxi's sensors can be autonomously cleaned if occluded, and the high-performance onboard computing system can process sensor data and make adjustments in real-time.
keep in mind that automation technology tends to improve over time as companies learn from real-world data and feedback. Robotaxi developers are leveraging decades of experience and learnings from previous autonomous vehicle projects to refine the safety, reliability, and performance of their systems.

Hardware can be added, replaced, improved, etc....No one is saying Robotaxi is ready now....In addition when a hardware is not performing in any automated system, the car or a robot or an instrument will have a back up protocol. I run automation in the healthcare and the system documents every stroke, every deviation, every part not performing, and it alert you well before the system breaks down. We call them flags and those flags are promptly dealt with. The companies making those instruments take all info recorded throughout the years and make them better. I have seen automation gets better throughout the 30 plus years in this business. This also affects directly your life as a patient.
Automated instruments reboot itself once a day or many times a day. Every Robotaxi has its own identity and can be fixed by a fleet of techs. or robots sometime soon.

Robotaxis, like any new technology, will likely see a range of adoption patterns - from early adopters to skeptics. I have seen this pattern in my 30 plus years. Addressing concerns around safety, regulation, and public acceptance will be crucial to driving widespread adoption. It is healthy.

Tesla is in a cut throat business. Rivian did not tell anyone about R3 surprise and that is how this business works "blood bath". I do not want to know everything that tesla is doing. I just trust but verified that they execute well and it has been ok for me. You and me as early adaptors has to be careful and help the technology get better.

That experience didn't help them figure out the obvious fact that the Cybertruck needs a washer on the rear camera even with a human driving since the rear view mirror is useless with the bed cover down.

Also, today my Model 3 FSD decided a county road with no speed limit sign, (which in NY means 55mph), was a 25mph zone. Other days it thinks it's 45mph. It also failed to signal when making a left turn. This is basic stuff during a very short drive.

which FSD you are referring to??

Gene monster told Melissa when she asked him what can you say to convince her guests that tore apart tesla because of the delivery miss at CNBC the following: There are two camps when it comes to tesla 1. First Camp are those that are in and believe that it will eventually work well long term 2. Camp two are those that no matter what you say it will make no difference.

Which is completely different than believing it's anywhere near robotaxi level now or in the near term. That means the robotaxi unveil in August is very premature and another product introduced long before it's ready, just like the original FSD, the Cybertruck, and the next gen Roadster.

Something about this sudden announcement after the M2 cancellation rumor hints at desperation and Elon shooting from the hip.

I wish Elon or Tesla would do a bit more with officially confirming or denying some of these wild things that come out.
So many of these things like rail dust spin into a torrent of rumors they get essentially believed when they are not accurate. Denying and correcting the major things that are not true, and owning up to the missteps would be great for the company............and the stock.

You mean something other than a poop emoji when media asks for comments? Yes that might be helpful.

That is a concern of mine - altered speed limits and FSD. I hope Tesla AI can understand when kids are at school and when they aren’t . . Or when the flashing yellow lights in front of a firehouse doesn’t mean the yellow lights are about to turn red every time I drive past.
