Pardon my ignorance here - but this charger isn't using NACs correct and doesn't come with a J1772 to NACs adapter? The Cybertruck uses NACs and at least at the moment, comes with the tesla Mobile charger (at least for the Foundation Series).

In all sincerity, would you mind elaborating on the value proposition of this product? I don't think your website is speaking to this target audience at the moment.

Agreed with Wraven. I don't see the use case for this with the cybertruck. The cybertruck mobile charger comes with 120v and 240v plug heads and my understanding is that the current limiting feature your cable offers can be done in the Tesla app. A charging cable is after all just a wire, it doesn't need to be complicated.

The Foundation series includes the Tesla Mobile Charger, but currently it is not included with other Teslas and I'm guessing it will not be included for the non-Foundation Cybertrucks.

Agree.

Tesla Mobile connector $250, NACS, 120v and 240v plugs. This product is $660 and is J1772. Big miss on function and big miss on price.

Has this been tested on a Cybertruck and does it charge at 40amp? My mobile charger only does 32amp on a 14-50 and charges at a slow 17mi/hr.

I can buy a known good product from Tesla cheaper than this one and not need an adapter. Even if non FS do not come with a mobile connector this is way over priced.

@Wraven

No worries at all—it's a great question! You're right, the J+ BOOSTER 2 uses the J1772 connector, which is standard for most non-Tesla EVs. Since your Cybertruck, like all Teslas, comes equipped with a J1772 to NACS adapter, we believe Cybertruck owners will truly appreciate what the J+ BOOSTER 2 has to offer.

What makes the J+ BOOSTER 2 especially appealing for Cybertruck owners isn’t just its 20% higher charging capacity—up to 9.6kW at 40A on a 240V connection—but also its rugged and attractive design. It’s built to handle the adventures that you and your Cybertruck will undoubtedly find. Whether you’re charging at home or bringing the charger along for a trip, it’s designed to endure and complement the aesthetics of your Cybertruck.

I acknowledge that our website could do a better job communicating directly to the Cybertruck community. Rest assured, I've already forwarded a handful of comments and feedback to the appropriate team here to address this.

Thanks again for your insight. We really appreciate it and are here for any more questions or feedback you have!

Yes, a solid response here. As I mentioned in my response to @Wraven directly, the primary value add here is the 20% extra charging power and the heavy-duty IP67 design.

Again, if what you have is working for you - there is no need to change. However, if you are looking for a a higher power option without the need for hardwiring to a single location - the J+ BOOSTER 2 could be the right option for you.

why would i use this vs a tesla wall connector ? it dosnt even have NACS so id have to use my J1772 adapter every time AND its more expensive and slower to charge my truck ?

im at a loss why you charge so much for this, also its not a "Charger" so its even mis-named.

Hi @cgladue,

Thanks for your comment—I understand where you're coming from. We're not suggesting replacing something that already works well for you. The J+ BOOSTER 2 is simply another option on the table.

Regarding the use of an adapter, most Tesla owners who opt for the J+ BOOSTER 2 find it convenient to leave the J1772 to NACS adapter attached to the BOOSTER for regular use. Of course, how you choose to use it is completely up to you.

The J+ BOOSTER 2 offers the flexibility of a portable, plug-in unit, providing up to 40A of power. This is less than the hardwired 48A Tesla Wall Connector but more than the 32A from the Tesla Mobile Connector. It’s designed for those who need a more adaptable solution—useful in various scenarios, whether at home or on the road.

We acknowledge that the price point is higher, but like the Cybertruck, the J+ BOOSTER 2 comes with its own set of advantages that justify the cost. It’s rugged, versatile, and perfect for those who are always on the move. It’s up to you to decide if these features bring the added value you’re looking for.

We appreciate your feedback and are here to answer any more questions or address further concerns you might have!

How does the J+ Booster 2 compare against the Tesla Universal Wall Charger + V3 gateway included in the Foundation series? All CT owners are Foundation series owners at the moment with many installing the Universal Wall Charger (240V, 48A) and gateway for Powershare later.

There isn't really a direct comparison, as each charger has its own set of advantages.

The Tesla Universal Wall Charger, coupled with the V3 gateway, provides a superb setup for home charging. It’s hardwired and fast, integrating seamlessly with the Tesla ecosystem—perfect for owners who primarily charge their vehicles at home.

On the other hand, the J+ BOOSTER 2 offers exceptional flexibility and durability. It’s a portable charger that delivers up to 40A at 240V and can be used in various locations, making it ideal for Cybertruck owners who require a versatile charging solution that can adapt to both home and travel needs.

The choice really comes down to what aligns best with your lifestyle. If a reliable, fixed charging point is what you need, the Tesla charger is an excellent choice. However, if you’re looking for a charger that can accompany you on various adventures and provide robust service in different environments, the J+ BOOSTER 2 is worth considering.

We aim to enhance the EV experience by offering solutions tailored to different needs, ensuring that the J+ BOOSTER 2 is a strong option for those seeking flexibility and reliability in their charging options.
