I don't know, but pretty sure the fact that today is TwosDay 2/22/22. And this week is palindrome week must have something to do with it. NUMBERS DON"T LIE!!!How is it that so many every X000 year events are happening all at once?
Weren’t all the palindrome events were cancelled as part of the Y2K effort to eradicate 2 digit dates.I don't know, but pretty sure the fact that today is TwosDay 2/22/22. And this week is palindrome week must have something to do with it. NUMBERS DON"T LIE!!!
Note: Palindrome week is only recognized in the US. But Today being palindrome day is a global event.
California knows what type of EV you have......if it 100% they charge you the gas tax they would get if you used an ICE car....problem is, those of use who dont drive 14k per year are getting screwed.....How are you taxed per mile in CA? I've only heard of flat registration there. New thing? So they track your miles and have a 14k minimum?
We work from home and drive very little, but also AZ has the lowest electric rates and EV taxes. Power is 5.5 cents off peak, and 7 years of Tesla registration was $60. My brother in CA would see a far lower ROI for an EV change.
Insanity. Now, I know someone has to pay the road fees, but until EVs are a big percentage they should get a bit of incentive, not a drawback. AZ just started charging a more normal registration fee this year, until the end of last year, an EV was under $10/year. We don't have any fuel tax replacement charge.California knows what type of EV you have......if it 100% they charge you the gas tax they would get if you used an ICE car....problem is, those of use who dont drive 14k per year are getting screwed.....
agreed....I love driving thru Arizona....super roads around Tucson and Phoenix.....INterstates are super clean and no pot hole or crazy drivers as I can tellHave you heard about the old Toyota clock problem? They never expected them to last this long, and many stopped counting dates yesterday.

What gets me is CA has such crap roads, and we have great roads, and the dollars seem opposite. I'm heading there tomorrow, I know most of the places in CA where I have to kick off AP because the roads are too messed up for it to deal.
My dad used to joke when we the road got suddenly rough that we were now in New Mexico (from Arizona). I cracked the same joke on an airplane when we suddenly hit turbulence. It turned out by pure coincidence that we had just crossed into New Mexicoagreed....I love driving thru Arizona....super roads around Tucson and Phoenix.....INterstates are super clean and no pot hole or crazy drivers as I can tell
I've worked with three regions on traffic video, and I can also tell you that they are all very different in quality/attitude of people they employ. Sometimes my Tesla identifies a road worker in a vest as a cone/barrel. Which is not inaccurate for some of those people.California allows each Caltrans region to choose their own paving priorities.
