IMHO, keeping the shares, and sell monthly to meet the repayment.

Take the loan over 7 years,..or as long as possible.

The original CT price + extra, will still be left in share value when you're done.

WOW that would be a great rumor (Sorry, NOT true)... I would love Elon to stick it in Mary's face... Not that he hasn't a couple of times. So far Elon only purchased one used plant, as far as I know, that is one of the high production battery facilities in NV? My opinion is most of the plants in Detroit and surrounding, are way too small in comparison to both Gigga's.
You can count on those plants being severely updated if happens. I have some more questions after reading this printout. So I just did a quick map of my location vs the Ford House. ONE Minute or .5 miles. Interesting tidbit (unfortunately) Mr WC Ford lived at the end of my street (Passed 2014) wife Martha Firestone still resides there, obvously on Lake St Clair.

Plus the union stuff. Walking into Detroit with his current union stance would be asking for nothing but trouble.

Yikes, based on current assumptions, earliest adopters will not be first in line.

I am early to but no one knows how they will roll it out. I bet they will do it regionally. Probably starting with the states with big EV markets. If they have an early reservation in the middle of Kansas I doubt they are going to put their delivery as a priority. They will try to sell as many as quickly as they can. So large deliveries to high demand areas makes the most sense

Please post all deets about the van. Here are some:

I would prefere a cybervan over the truck if the van had the vault top or some other removable top. Think old vw bus with fabric slider top. None of these renderings inspire me to want one. Canoo has a cool style but not very practical as a hauler or a camper van. That 2025 one with 600 range is nearly on target for style but a van needs serious accessibility and be able to haul a toy box down the E-way.

The CT "station wagon" like John K submitted would be a hit. It could be called a SUV or a minivan if was long enough for a 3rd row of seats.

I had two KIA Souls and they were the most utilitarian cars I ever had. With the back seats down I hauled wheeled air compressors and 8 ft. two by fours with the rear hatch closed.

The main requirement for me is hauling 4 ft. x 8 ft. sheet materials like plywood and drywall sheets.

Production due 2024, aka Cybertruck Van. Don't believe me? Watch this play out, I absolutely trust my sources. I am from Detroit and my family goes back to the Studebaker Corporation days and my grandfather was with Henry Ford back office and worked in the patent office. I live exactly 1/2 mile from the Henry Ford Estate on Lakeshore Dr, Grosse Pointe Shores, MI. My CT order number is (12-3-19).

Spreadsheet updated Feb 22, 2022. CT very limited production with less than 20-30 a week starting in 2022 ramping up slowly. Full production numbers start in 2023 with 77,000 built, that year. Then for 2024, 157,300 are the production numbers projected. It looks like my 324K number is delivered in 2025.
The Cybertruck Van is slated to start production in 2024 with almost 26K units built that year.
Of course the new agreements to build batteries for Tesla will come into play for 2025.

I am not sure whether your Detroit pedigree changes anything with respect to the veracity of your sources or the production predictions. If the production is that low it would be unlike any production ramp Tesla has ever had. Just look at the brand new Model Ys coming out of Austin now. In a few weeks they have produced hundreds of cars that are visible to anyone (let alone how many are in the building). Tesla always ramps up slowly but they start with hundreds per week and ramp up to thousands per week in a year's time. Elon said they have a target run rate of 250K CTs per year and that is about 5,000 cars per week or almost 1,000 cars per day. What no one knows is when they will begin production at all but it is pretty safe to say that once they do it probably won't be less than 1,000 per month and might take a quarter to reach 5,000 per month. These are complete guesses and have nothing to do with my Detroit (area) heritage.
