Ammonia and bleach are bad for stainless. Particularly when mixed!

That said, a good ammonia-free glass cleaner should work fine. I also get good results from using water and a synthetic chamois.

I'm sorry about that, like I told @ehuna, we are coatings people, not photographers or videographers. And with the outdoor environment with the moving sun and the reflections from the stainless, it was difficult to reproduce exact environments. We do have application videos coming that are on a tripod from one angle, those should be ready on Tuesday. I changed the pictures in the first post to show the areas of biggest differences.
Hey Im still excited to try your product! Still awaiting my VIN. All of these people questioning you, should thank you for the product and affordability as well. But then again....these are humans haha

Sounds like an easy way to “key” a CT to me

It's mostly the continued use of (ammonia-original) Windex that bothers me. Each time the naturally hard and protective SS coating will have to rebuild. I think it is actually making the fingerprint problem worse for people.
Agreed, continued use I think can leave a build up. We did several tests to find what worked best and found the use of BKF More (liquid) followed by Windex (which neutralizes the acid in the BKF, we PH tested it), then a wipe with denatured alcohol or acetone which removes any contaminants, then wipe on ProtectaClear. This cleans, then protects the surface long term, so very little maintenance is required. This way there is no frequent use of chemicals on the metal.

For the collective good of the CT community, I’m going to re-post this information from ideaXfactory every time I see someone recommend Windex for stainless steel:
Thanks, I wont make the mistake of recommending it again.

We are extremely happy with the results! We waited about a day, a few notes -
  • In the first video, you can see before how easy it is to get fingerprints on the cybertruck - and it's not that easy to remove them.
  • In the second video, you can see after the Protecta Clear has been applied - no fingerprints!
In addition to protecting against fingerprints, it will also protect against , corrosion, rust, etc. The kit includes everything you need, from the Protecta Clear itself, to gloves, microfiber cloths, and more.

Thank you Jackie and the whole @ProtectaClear team!

Note: I''m not associated with @ProtectaClear, I'm just a Cybertruck owner - see some pictures of my CB here:

First video, before with water spots and fingerprints -

Second video, after applying Protecta Clear -

Thanks for sharing @ehuna! We just posted the Application Video this evening.

Any chance for a follow-up video on the door panel after a week or so?

Looks super promising.

Also some pictures of the whole truck under differently lighting conditions would be nice to see.
Sure, we applied it first only to one panel - to test it out and see how it looks and works. After 4 days, we are very happy with the results, so we are working on applying @ProtectaClear to the whole truck.

Once we are done, I'll follow up and take some pictures and videos.

I would love to as we know our photography/film skills are not our forte. LMK if you can share their contact info.

The application video suggests using acetone to clean drips off of the plastic panels. Is this not going to ruin/discolor them?
Not on the hard plastics. The coating was easy to remove in the video because the drip was still wet as well. Even when it dries, acetone will remove it, but it takes a bit longer. But we have tested the acetone on different color plastics, including the bumper in the video and it does not discolor it.

@ProtectaClear Have you tried the satin coating on the Cybertruck? I'm interested in a satin look. How does that look on a CT? I am picking up my Cyberbeast soon and want to protect it with your coating soon.
