No evidence so far, but it is already two pages of forum messages. Before you start smthg like this, please, make some research and post some evidence. Because people do not read every word , they catch some words and guess rest. That how gossips start going around
Evidence is fundamentally flawed but

I'm not or trying to convince anyone of anything. Simple stating things I feel and have personally heard 1st hand from friends (who, by the way arent allowed to say much because of non disclosures)

Believe me or not, I dont care. But I have no reason to try an find evidence. This thread was never ment for arguing.

I'm basically just talking out loud trying to figure out if I still want to buy the CT, knowing they dont treat workers very well, I just wanted a bit of input on that, and see what people think.

Go and buy GM, or Ford. They must have treated workers better, for sure! Only one issue, no evidence of it as well as Tesla does not threat their workers well. I am pretty sure, there are a lot of people who would be happy to work for Tesla today for any money. Because we believe in Tesla!

BTW, what is your pre-order #? I would be happy to take your perioder if it less than my RN112755396 :)

It wasn't a different company, Im sure they were working with other companies though.

The only fact I have is a friend(s) who worked there (both the fremont and lathrop factories), there's no reason while casually talking he would just lie about that.
I have never "researched" the issue until just now, i searched
"lathrop tesla casting" and found this https://insideevs.com/news/407754/tesla-protect-lathrop-workers-deny/

I dont want to start any big issues, I am really just saying that I personally am debating supporting a company that dosent care about its low lvl workers. perhaps others should too. and more generally any company with bad policies/ worker treatment.

I love tesla, and Elon. and really want to support them.
For me this is an issue of morals. but at the same time how many companies have I supported that I just didnt know were doing bad things (probably far more than I will ever know). but that still dosnt make it ok
My mistake. Although, would the issues at Lathrop facility 2 years ago have concided with the Model 3 "Production Hell" phase the company endured? As I recall, it was a make or break time to prove to the Street that they could ramp up production and hit their their estimates. Musk was in the trenches with his teams:
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/feat...-s-model-3-became-elon-musk-s-version-of-hell

Thanks for the link to the Covid situation.. It was insightful. I'm usually skeptical of claims made by anonymous workers, and this quote by one of them is troubling in terms of their mentality:

"We’ve expressed to supervisors and HR about receiving Hazard Pay, receiving a pay raise or even receiving a day of PTO everyday we work. We are glad to have a job, but obviously coming to work everyday is a health risk not just for ourselves but our families we have at home. When this subject has been brought up to supervisors, they don’t even give an answer: just make a stupid face and move on without answering.”

In a time of national high unemployment and economic crisis, I don't think they are reasonable, especially considering the options already given and the industry.

I wouldn't worry about it, but only you can decide that you are comfortable supporting a company.

You could say the same for Amazon, Apple and many others so I guess it’s how far you want to go with it really.

Hey all, just wanted to see what people think about it.
People are protesting about getting fired because they dont feel safe going back to work.
I live near fremont and know people who work there, it's long hours, hard work, for little pay(for the area).

I'm of the thought that if people are protesting outside your business, generally your doing something wrong.
if you live with elderly, or take care of them, etc. You shouldn't have to choose your job over protecting them. Tesla said go back to work or get fired
It's really sad to see and although I love Tesla and elon generally, I'm not sure I can support a company that cares more about profits than health and sefety.

This is far from the first, I had a friend working at the lathrop casting r&d building. (This was a couple years ago) He was saying several times a week ambulances were getting called because people were passing out.

There's a cost for trying to do too much too fast. Sadly it's always the grunts. Do better tesla

Edit, to add a bit.
II'm just stating things I have heard from a couple friends working for tesla. Believe me or not I dont care. This is just another data point for ME when thinking about making a large purchase. Whether you take this into to account is up to u. I want tesla do do well, and I'm sure they will continue to.
Also this was in general forum. Mods moved it here to investing forum
Well..... let's first walt for facts vs rumor. Secondly; if the factory is following safety protocols then yes the employees can return to work -it doesn't matter if they 'feel' safe if the company is meeting requirements. if I decided not to go to work I'd get fired too.

There's an insane difference between some1 like u, choosing to work for the good of all and a low income assembly worker making an unnecessary product. They should have the option of not working for nonpayment and at least knowing they have a job to come back to.
It just shows they dont care. And I'm just saying I dont know if I want to support a company like that.
if they had the option of not working would they then also expect Tesla to hold their job while someone else had to be hired and trained to replace them because they didn't 'feel ' safe?

I'm sorry but the factory is meeting health requirements - if you're expected to return to work and refuse, yes you can be fired.

I'll get my CT still..... if the company is meeting health requirements and employees refuse to work, yes they can be fired. How can they think that isn't reasonable????

With the known Union and shorters trying to spread FUD, I would need concrete evidence before buying into any of this.
.... and even if they were fired, I'd say its justifiable. the plant is safe to work at, so get to work.

My opinion on this will probably upset some people...

I understand that people don’t want to leave their homes until they feel safe. But the truth is COVID is here to stay. If you want to stay home until it’s gone you won’t be the first hermit.

Meanwhile people need to eat. An economy is connected at every level. You can’t just have a huge section of the population holed up at home, collecting money. Our entire society would collapse. Again, if you want to stay home that’s great, but don’t expect all the benefits that come with risking your life to earn a buck. And you all know we are risking our lives everyday by commuting to work. Or being exposed to the flu. Or workplace violence. Or etc etc.

My job never stopped once this year and I’m glad it didn’t because I get stir crazy when I’m not working. I hope that we did actually flatten the curve because all of our efforts seem pretty pointless right now. I was happy to see Tesla restart construction and restaurants reopen and anything else that’s trying to reopen.

This is just all my opinion. Disregard at will!

I don't have an issue with people trying to reopen, the big issue there is Americans collectively speaking have completely failed to understand the steps needed to keep this kind of virus in check, i.e. drastic changes needed to HVAC equipment, but that is an entirely different discussion.

I do have an issue with reports of people working to exhaustion until ambulances have to pick them up. I've read some articles claiming this has happened in Tesla factories so I'm going to be looking for more concrete information.

Either way it goes I probably won't talk about my opinions here much anymore. There's a lot of evil in this world and it's pointless fighting it. All I can do is try not to help it.

My opinion Is that the virus is just another Flu. Death rates continue to decline and if you're under the age of 50 then you have virtually nothing to worry about.

The Shanghai factory was only closed for 2 weeks. Fremont was closed for what, 7? What is wrong with people in America. Get back to work or crawl under your own rock if you're afraid of living. Sorry but our country used to be a lot stronger than we are now.

People are entitled to their own opinions, not their own facts.

Fact :
A/ In the U.S. the Death rate is going up, NOT DOWN. Started going back up from about June 22nd

B/ Virus's are not the same, COVID-19 is not the same as the FLU.
Death rate of the FLU is 0.1 %, COVID 19 is approx. 4.5 %. in the U.S., 45 TIMES MORE DEADLY. (4500 %)
And the number of hospitalisations is in thousands times more.

C/ The Virus is mutating, The average age of the Dead has dropped from 63 to 48.

D/ The Chinese did a hard lockdown of Wuhan and Hubei Province and beyond, from late December, January and February. And lifted travel restrictions on March 25th.

E/ The new facts coming out every day from 36 states with escalating infections, and particularly Florida, Texas and California, (who have all exceeded New York's previous record) will take some serious effort to ignore in the next 3 weeks.

WOW, Simply WOW !

P.S. But hey, I hear some guy says Covid 19 is harmless to 99% of the people who get it . . . . .he's the same guy who suggests people drink and inject themselves with bleach, so if critical thinking is not your thing, perhaps people could give that a go, "what have you got to lose" !
