Robotaxis aren't trucks, which has all been what's mentioned.

We don’t know what it will be. A mini Cybertruck might be an exceedingly efficient taxi. One of the big problems with Taxis IMO is the poor cargo capacity. No reason they couldn’t fix that with Robotaxi.

The opening of the automotive trade between Mexico and Brazil will benefit mainly General Motors, Volkswagen, Nissan, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) and KIA, automakers that dominate that market already, revealed experts consulted by El Financiero.

“These companies are the immediate beneficiaries because they dominate that market. They will have the opportunity to send more vehicles, but there is also a higher quality advantage of Mexican cars compared to those made in Brazil,” said Brais Alvarez, Automotive Account Manager for J.D. Power Mexico.

In 2018, GM, Volkswagen, Nissan, FCA and KIA represented 93.5% of total Mexican auto exports to Brazil, where they held a 61% market share.
Ok, it seems like Mexico has some special advantages as you indicated. Consider that Tesla wants many more Giga factories. Mexico and Canada could be part of the new list of Giga factories. There are reports that indicates that the plan is to go to 20M cars/year by 2030 with about 2M cars per Giga factory.

Cargo truck could mean a lot of different things. Usually when I hear the phrase I think of UHaul type box trucks though. That would be curious since there is nothing of the sort on Tesla’s product roadmap.

It might just be referring to the Tesla Semi though. Though it wouldn’t be too hard to convert the semi into a box truck??
Yeah, maybe cargo truck is supposed to mean semi truck tractor. Maybe source of info is a native Spanish speaker so there is different translation issue.

Tesla Semi fabrication has started at Spark, NV plant but maybe the ramp of Tesla Semi will be done at Mexico plant instead of Austin.

Some of the workers in Mexico that make those competing legacy ICE semi trucks will need new jobs once fleet buyers see the higher availability, reduced maint, fuel savings , and better TCO/ROI possible with the Tesla Semi.
