Has anyone dropped an old truck/van body on an electric chassis?

Built cars…with enough money it’s possible to achieve any level of imagination you can muster. Some cars are worth saving. Saved my share. Not EV yet.

Conversions to EV are repowers that are a great way to spend retirement, inheritance or gen expenses in a hot equities year. Chevy has gone all-in on selling EV conversion kits which is the 80/20 go to solution for Classics.

Frame-offs are a whole new chassis and motor ass’y for body-on-frame Collectibles. They solve the problem of heavy old rusted frames while mating EV+battery+charging to a frame-fit body. They do not result in the modern EV aerodynamic maintenance free transportation Tesla affords. BUT if you are in love with an old girl and she just keeps getting more attractive with age, frame-off EV is the way to keep the romance youthful.

Range is only solution missing for the EV conversion I’d consider worthwhile.

I have been wondering about the feasibility of dropping an old G20 Van body onto an electric chassis. Has anyone done this or other conversions?
These guys are a premier electric conversion shop:
https://www.evwest.com/

Their default method is to install EV components into a classic chassis, sometimes with Tesla drive units:

They've done several VW Transporters. I bet they'd do a G20 van, too.
