The competitive advantage that Tesla currently enjoys are its batteries and software. They will need to stay on the cutting edge if they want to keep their BEV position. I see a lot of competition coming their way in the future.
“Linear Labs created the Hunstable Electric Turbine, an electric motor that operates more efficiently, costs less to manufacture and can be used in cars, scooters, robotics, wind turbines and more. It’s named after the company’s founders, Brad Hunstable and his father, Fred.“
I agree. Another...
The real why reason GM invested 11%? EV credits.
EV automakers receive credits for building EVs, and those can be sold to other automakers to offset C02 emissions. GM will keep roughly 80% of the credits for Nikola Badger sales and Nikola gets the remaining 20%. GM has right of first refusal to...
“As part of a multi-part, multibillion-dollar deal, GM received an 11% stake in Nikola, valued at about $2 billion. In return for the Nikola shares, GM will supply Nikola with batteries, a chassis architecture, fuel cell systems and a factory to build the startup’s proposed Nikola Badger pickup...
The current wait time on a Model Y is 8-12 weeks.
If you have a 30amp 220v dryer plug I would try this Tesla NEMA adapter first for $35...

I can see GM spinning off a BEV line of vehicles under the Nikola brand. It would be a totally separate brand which is only sold online. Buyers would take delivery and get service/warranty work completed at any of the 4,100 authorized GM dealers around the country.
GM’s Mary Barra and her...
Elon promised 9/22 will be a "mind blowing" day. He mentioned that it blows HIS mind so I do think it's something pretty big. V2G charging? 100% silicone nanowire batteries? Leasing battery packs? Mind blowing battery production speed?
I don't think it was a coincidence that the stock split occurred roughly 5-weeks weeks before Battery Day. When Elon says the day will be "mind blowing" you know it's going to be big and the stock price will increase.
Electrical power storage has been the main issue for power plants and this is the solution. Also, Tesla V2G (vehicle to grid) is coming. Your Tesla vehicle is around 5 mobile Power Walls that can be charged and discharged once the million battery packs are a production reality.
Once a solid electrode battery is perfected (solid state) in 5-10 years you will see an explosion of electric motor powered airplanes, RV’s, boats, trains, buses, etc. It will be final nail in the coffin for the internal combustion engine.
The general public still thinks about the Hindenburg whenever the hydrogen word is spoken. The first serious collision involving a hydrogen powered car where the tank ruptures, explodes and kills its occupants AND receives major media coverage will be the death of hydrogen powered cars in this...
A straight 6 diesel engine is pretty sweet. Even GM realized how inherently smooth and compact this design is. They now offer in their pickups as an option.
Even if Tesla had an assembly plant I think the Class 8 Semi is being held up by battery production restraints and the yet to be revealed...
