I’m planning on sleeping in the vault for a night or two next month!
Debating if I’d be comfortable leaving the gate open though while I sleep. Was planning on leaving just a crack of the tonneau open.
Have you considered either making it shorter, or having it fold where the gate is so used can do either gate open or closed?

I agree! It’ll be good to have a shorter version or a foldable version at the top, and the folded side can be used as a pillow as well. We can then use it either with tailgate open or close.

I would be interested in a shorter version where I can close the tailgate.

This is a great start. Needs some sort of mesh & canopy/rainfly solution. The vault cover is not 100% waterproof so would be nice to be able to lay there dry. Also look at the sky through a mesh to keep bugs out like a regular tent. The anchor points on the roof can be used as structural points for the bed. Either that or the accessory rails.

I need some inspiration to get started, I'll complete some simple projects first.
