"I'll say what I want to say and if the consequence of that is losing money, so be it."
But it's his right and he doesn't care. He said previously that he's only going to live once and he wants to live it his way."I'll say what I want to say and if the consequence of that is losing money, so be it."
The entire point is that this is not merely (or even mostly) about him personally. When he alienates customers, investors, etc. he costs other investors money, he costs employees, he impacts communities who have invested in Tesla.
If he thought for five seconds about this...
Mary Barra, Jim Farley, Tim Cook .... there is no big company CEO I can think of who engages in the politics and personalities tweet nonsense. They have chosen to put others above their own desire to scratch the itch.
- If Musk never again tweeted about politics and personalities would the public be worse off? Of course not. There is a seemingly endless supply of folks happy to do that.
- If Musk never again tweeted about politics and personalities would Tesla shareholders, employees, customers be better off? Yes! How much better? Unclear, but certainly better.
- If Musk never again tweeted about politics and personalities would Elon himself world be worse off? No. But he thinks yes. And here is the point. This is all and only about scratching an itch.
That's why they say the goal is for you to attain a certain amount of wealth that when added to discretionary funds equals "Fcku You Money".Love it! ??
I would do and say exactly the same as the richest person in the world....what the F**K I want, when the F**K I want to! ??
"I want my father's emerald mine back you son-of-a-bitch" ??This must be getting a lot of new hits:
I 100% agree on the WFH thing. I am much more inclined to do extra when its from home.I am more interested in knowing what is going on in those long pauses. If will smith told him it is a good alternative to slapping the guy on camera.
He seemed pissed about working from home issue too. on that I donāt agree. I see my wife skipping lunch often and work passed quitting time often. She saves four hours of commute every day and a large amount of fossil fuel and pollution every year. Not driving will do more for environment than driving EVs.
the interesting part about this is that he made the quote what 2 days ago.. since then the stock is UP 8 bucks... doesn't seem like he HAD a negative impact on the stockholders to me."I'll say what I want to say and if the consequence of that is losing money, so be it."

The future of the human race is in Elon's hands. At least, he's said that our survival requires transitioning to sustainable energy, and making life interplanetary, both things he is working on.Yep, there are a lot of people grabbing at this straw, trying to tell people Elon is making them lose money. It's a way of trying to make it personal, cause division, and get people mad at Elon.
I don't agree with my wife or anybody in this world (all the time). None of us are without faults. I watched this, and of course there are times I wish Elon would keep his opinions more private. BUT, and this is a big But. Elon has way more people wanting to do interviews or just asking him his opinions on Anything, then any other person I can think of. (So in a way), I appreciate that he attempts to give his perspective on things without bowing down to other people's pressure. To have the balls to stand up and say what you think, can be good, but also be painful. But, it seems like he thinks it's important enough to stand on his principles, even if it does cause pain for him, and others.
I coach Special Olympics and spend a lot of time around people who I would say, don't really have much of a filter. At times Elon seems not to have much of a filter. To me, it's understandable for many reasons. He's one of the richest most powerful human beings on the planet. That would make most of us feel pretty damn entitled, and allow us to do and say things, we don't normally say.
The thing is, you have to take the good with the bad, and accept people for who they are. Not what we want them to be.
I don't see this changing much over time. Elon is going to be Elon, and we can either accept it or not, and that's fine.
My dad ran large construction jobs with lots of people. And one of the things he said that will always stick with me. "You can only apply as much pressure on people, as they will accept". So there lies one of the problems with Elon. He doesn't feel like accepting too much pressure from government, ex-wives, or anybody. But even Elon has to bow down to pressure from time to time. Take for example NASA and government agencies giving Space X permits.
There, that's my story, and I'm sticking to it!
My concern is that Elon's right wing opinions are championed by politicians who will side with oil companies and auto-dealership lobbyists EVERY time. He's not winning these politicians nor Republican voters to the side of climate activists. The future of the human race is in Elon's hands. At least, he's said that our survival requires transitioning to sustainable energy, and making like interplanetary, both things he is working on.
If his words are jeopardizing those efforts, then he is acting counter to his own stated goals.
Well summarized. But it's his right and he doesn't care.
