It’s amazing that we have had so many DIYers have successful applications of ProtectaClear on their Cybertrucks and that professional detailers have been having so many issues! We believe it is because professional detailers might have many years of experience with ceramic coatings, therefore they think ProtectaClear application is the same and it is NOT!

To quote the post by @BeFamousVideo on this thread “Take a look at the ProtectaClear instructions as it applies to prepping the truck before the final application. I bought a kit and tested ProtectaClear on my outdoor kitchen for practice as I wait for delivery later this month ( stainless steel cabinets/drawers, BBQ etc.) the results are fantastic. My stainless steel BBQ and other components have never looked this good and the metal feels smooth too. The application method is easy but takes a bit of discipline and patience and the instructions with the kit are quite detailed.”

We send full, detailed instructions with your Cybertruck Specialty Kit with exact instructions for this process. Many professionals assume they know the coating process but then end up with unintended results because they do not follow the correct process for ProtectaClear.

Some words of wisdom to those who are buying the product to give to their detailer or for those who are assuming their local detailer knows how to apply ProtectaClear. Be sure they read and follow the instructions as well as watch the overview video before they apply the coating.

A few tips for anyone using the ProtectaClear on a Cybertruck:
  1. Read the full instructions before you start so you understand the process.
  2. Watch this overview video.
  3. Call our offices if you have any questions about preparation or application (916) 852-0200, we are happy to help you and would much rather clarify questions before you apply rather than having to help you correct it afterward.
  4. Start on the small front panel to perfect your technique before you move on to larger panels.
  5. Do not use one applicator for the entire truck, it will not hold up and can lint eventually. We send multiple applicators just for this reason.
  6. If you are seeing unintended or unfavorable results, PLEASE STOP and call us, we can help you diagnose the issue and recommend an adjustment to your process before you continue on the entire truck.

I have the kit now I just need the truck. The few question I had were answered immediately by email. So far they have great customer service. I agree with the above after doing my own ceramic coating on countless vehicles. The ProtectsClear is a different beast. Not hard to do but a different application process.
