Yeah, I edited my post earlier, but I had not seen your reply to it. This is just strange to me. Why would the same engine with the same power ratings (346 hp and 465 lb.-ft) require different octane gas? Tacoma hybrid clearly states 87 in the manual (pg 591 BTW). What is different?

My next question is: will the i-Force Max Hybrid 4Runner take High Octane gas only like the LC ?

The 4 cylinder will actually run better with the 8 speed tranny....I promise you. It's why I have a Ford at the moment.

Since I do a lot of driving at night, I'd MUCH rather see Toyota integrate their ADB/AHS headlight system into the 4Runner.

IF I get one, the very first thing I'm doing, before driving off the dealer lot, is turning ALL of this nanny crap off. I can't stand any of it. With all this garbage it's no wonder that nobody actually knows how to drive any more.

I'm really curious how often or far it can cruise in EV only if you are "granny speed/acceleration in the neighborhood". I like what I hear so far about it being completely seamless.

I read that Tacoma's with manual transmission account for ten percent of sales which is not enough to keep Toyota happy.

I don’t have the large mega screen in my Silverado but the brightness when using nav at night is obnoxious I can imagine having a huge screen blaring in my face at night while I navigate. Guess I can just switch over to my phone and listen to directions and turn off the mega screen

While this doesn’t bother me (I’m the guy who wants the biggest screen possible), do other cars not have a button to shut off the screen? Bottom right corner button makes it go dark, I”m assuming for this very reason of too much light inside the cabin at night. I haven’t experimented with it...

I think we will see pricing announced around October or November. I do think that all those rumours of it being delayed is true. I still think that the press will drive it soon rather than later in the year. Fingers crossed it’ll happen sooner!

I hope that when they start shipping the TRDP's, they've resolved that hood flex issue. I'd like to think it was only a pre-pro issue and isn't going to be present on the actual production models. I just don't see Toyota being okay with something like that.
