  1. Elon Musk says the chip shortage is a ‘short-term’ problem

While I hope Elon is correct and not just being his usually optimistic self, I think those who are predicting the chip shortage will last at least another year are probably more accurate.
  2. Autopilot/FSD and the HOV lane

To my knowledge, Tesla firmware does NOT check or care how many occupants are in the vehicle. It does however warn if a seat sensor is triggered and the corresponding seatbelt is not fastened. Use or avoidance of toll roads and HOV lanes are preferences that can be set for the navigation system.
  3. Frunk-Gate! Why should the mid-gate get all the fun?

Topics like this just prove we are getting a bit weird waiting not only for CT production to start, but for ANY official info from Tesla as to final specs and images of the production CT. ;)
  4. Hacking group Anonymous issues threat to Elon Musk

The real reason the hacking group is mad at Elon is that their main assets are in bitcoin and stupid bitcoin traders are overreacting to Elon's tweets.
  5. Tesla Boats/Watercraft?

I will take exception to the above statement. Currently boats are selling faster than manufacturers can make them. It seems the pandemic has inspired a lot of people to seek recreation on the water. Even used boats are selling for more than the asking price. While true that the road vehicle...
  6. OMG!! German newspaper encourages people to literally bet against Tesla (TSLA) in insane article

I hope the germans who follow the advice in the mentioned article lose their proverbial shirt. :devilish: Disclaimer: I own TSLA stock.
  7. Toyota Developing Hydrogen Internal Combustion Engine

Toyota management = a bunch of fools that refuse to realize ICE is a dead end.
  8. Tesla branded as ‘arrogant’ in China as pressure mounts on the electric car maker

You apparently missed the fact the data was from 30 minutes before the crash up to and including the crash event. The following image from Electrek.co The third column is speed in km/h; 5th column is brake pressure in bar. As can be seen in the data, the brakes were NOT applied until about 4...
  9. When Do We Start Seeing Some Weird EV Designs?

There are those who think the Cybertruck is a "weird design" or ugly. Fortunately for Tesla there are also those of us who like the design enough to reserve one. Hopefully the production design of the CT will be close enough to the prototype that we won't want to cancel our reservations.
  10. Elon Musk says Starlink internet service should be ‘fully mobile’ by the end of this year

What has not been mentioned is the need for a more mobile friendly Starlink antenna for RVs and yachts. In my opinion the current generation of the Starlink dish, while great for fixed locations, is not suitable for applications where the dish would be mounted to a vehicle in motion. For RVs...
  11. This site has affected my thought processes – not necessarily for the better

In my opinion, the tri-motor CT would be great for towing larger trailers, but that is not my use case. For me the dual motor version should be adequate as my main thing is to be able to get around in the winter when the roads can be slick. FSD option is preferable as stated previously, but I...
  12. This site has affected my thought processes – not necessarily for the better

I was not aware of this website until I stumbled upon it while searching for more info & opinions on the Cyberlandr camper concept. While I am not generally a “truck guy”, I have owned a few trucks (3) in the distant past. In late 2014 I decided it was time I finally became more...
